Lots of room for improvement

I’ve stayed 4 nights here. Pros: - Modern concept, new building - I like the idea of common smoking area and eating areas, helps make the rooms cleaner - staff were ok, but I feel, poor grasp of English and mandarin, enough to greet but insufficient to understand what guests are trying to convey.
Cons: - poor quality walls and doors. You hear doors being slammed every hour due to poor workmanship. Toilet drainage poor. - bad choice of tour company within compound. We hired the tour guide within hotel compound (had a booth), couldn’t speak and understand English or mandarin, did not speak much and the worst, tried to cheat us. Said the day tour was $2500 baht, we paid deposit. At the end, he said it was $3000 baht. Moreover, he made us buy him lunch and pay toll fee additionally. I’ve been to Thailand 5 times, this is the first I’ve encountered such guides, moreover allowed to operate in the hotel compounds. I thought the hotel would hv done their QC and it’s safe to hire him.

Marvelous customer service

No sleep allowed
The rooms had no sound proofing. People kept slamming their doors the entire night. Stray cats’ mating calls added to the unrest. Location was good. Staff were friendly.

Hotel facilities and everything were good and very value for money, but the streets outside were dimly lit and it was quite scary to walk back to the hotel at night
