Wonderful place, but...

It's been our 2nd stay in Layana, after we felt in love with it in 2015. Since then some new facilities were built, like 2nd pool and new villas. Everything there is almost perfect except service in their restaurant Tides. It's been the same problem 3 years ago and unfortunately not much has improved - staff's English language skills and overall knowledge of their offer. So many times we couldn't understand each other while ordering food or drinks. For example - they had special offer for German wheat beer (-50%), about which there was an advertisement in the bar. When I ordered it, waiter was looked like she didn't know about it at all. And if you want to ask to make some changes to dishes from their menu, you better speak with chef (by the way - greetings to him!). Food (breakfast included) generally is close to perfection. Prices are closer to Europe's prices, rather than Thai's. Their beach was cleaned every day, so it was tidy. Service at the pool was very good. Spa's great. <3 it
