Fun, Friendly, Great All Round!
Karon Sea Sands Resort was our first hotel in Thailand. It is a 40min taxi ride from Phuket airport which cost us 500 baht and a 10min taxi ride from Patong which cost us 300 baht.
The hotel its self is very nice and feels authentic but modern at the same time. The rooms are large, the bed is comfy, and the facilities such as the pool area are great. The staff were always smiling and were friendly and helpful.
There is a bar downstairs that is slightly overpriced. For example a Chang beer was 80 baht, where was you could go to the mini mart less than 50 metres from the hotel's door and get a Chang beer for 50 baht.
We had one unfortunate incident where a guest of the hotel came banging on our door at 3am asking to be let in. We ignored this and he soon left.
The hotel has a range of guests, most appeared to be families or groups of 3 or 4. We stayed here for our honeymoon and as a couple it was great too though.
Breakfast is great with a great range of food and Karon beach (which is just across the road) has an amazing sunset!
