A great hotel but beware of the penalties

This is a great hotel, which I definitely recommend you to visit. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the facilities are very good. The restaurant is also very good, with tasteful Thai cuisine and Italian plates. Beware of the pelalties though. When we checked in we did not know that the room was equipped with 2 umbrellas. In fact the room had only one and we did not find it strange to be honest as we only used one as a couple. When we checked out we were told that we had to pay extra 750 baht for the missing umbrella we did not actually loose. We accepted the blame since we did not report it in the first place but I believe that the hotel policy needs to be more bullet proof to protect both visitors and hotel's property. A good practice is to have visitors to sign a paper where it's acknowledged and confirmed that the room has specific item count and penalties if something is missing.
