Decent choice removed from noise of patong beach
The staff was very friendly and helpful with anything I needed or any questions I had. I had to leave early in the morning to catch my ferry and they put breakfast out early for me and arranged a taxi to take me to the pier. The breakfast was decent. But not great. A small contenental selection of fruit, fried rice, toast, eggs.
Patong Mansion is about a 10 minute walk to Patong Beach but I didn't mind because I don't want to be in the loud chaotic center. It was definitely close enough to walk but you have to walk down a couple dark streets and cross a main road.
The room was good. It was clean. Nothing too fancy. The room faces an alley and looks directly into another building so you have to keep the blinds closed. I was staying in the superior room.
All in all, I really didn't like Patong Beach at all. Too many tourists and no thai culture. If I had to go back and didn't want to stay in an expensive resort, I would probably stay at Patong Mansion hotel again.
