Short Stay (4 Nights)
Briza is a good 15-20 minute walk from the centre of Chaweng but transport by taxi/tuk tuk is a cheap option to avoid the heat/humidity. I stayed in a Plunge Pool villa which was quite large when you also take into account the area outside the room which included an outside toilet & seated area. Access to beach area is very good with a fairly good number of loungers available. Unable to comment on the food as i never ate at the resort. Local eateries located about 100m away on the beach proved to be far more enticing especially on lovely sunny days. Briza staff are very friendly, helpful and speak good English. Be aware that the Briza is built on the face of a hill leading to the beach so there are a few steep pathways to navigate to and from your room - nothing overly strenuous but definitely sweat inducing. The one and only cocktail i had at the resort barely tasted of alcohol that i had to ask if i had just been given a fruit smoothy by mistake!! So, at 190baht (about 5GBP), that was the end of that. While i would say that the overall experience was an enjoyable one. I believe that there are room for improvements.
