Good overall but not the most family-friendly

Booked the hotel for a long weekend in Samui, travelling with our 18 month old. We encountered a problem occurred when we first arrived - the entrance to the hotel is at the top of a flight of about 20 stairs and there was no ramp to wheel up our sleeping son in his stroller. Check-in was fine but another problem when we got to our room - we'd selected a room with a balcony but there is no lift to get to the upper floor (again, this is an issue with a sleeping toddler in a stroller). The staff were able to move us on Day 2 to a ground floor room which did help. Other than the logistics of the stairs we actually enjoyed our time there. The rooms are quite modern, of a reasonable size and had a nice outdoor Jacuzzi. Breakfast was decent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool area in itself is nice and backs on to the beach but for some strange reason the whole of the pool is surrounded by a kind of bed of pebbles which is uncomfortable to walk on when entering the pool.
