Unfortunately our stay at the Poonsiri was disappointing. The front desk receptionist was very unhelpful which due to the remote location of the hotel made many aspects of our stay tiresome. The hotel has a tuk tuk that goes to Ao Nang 3 times a day but also advertises that you can pay 150B to go to Ao Nang at anytime. We waited over an hour for this service on our first night which when this is (according to the desk receptionist) the only way to get into Ao Nang.
We also booked massages and were left sat waiting at the spa for 20 minutes for masseuses who didn't turn up despite going to the desk to check, on the second visit to the front desk we were told she wasn't coming and had called 5 minutes before but no one came to let us know (friends who stayed on after we left said that the same thing happened again the next day too!!)
The bar closes at 10pm so if you are hoping to stay up late, go out for dinner, don't eat at the hotel!! It was also hit and miss what food and drinks were available. We had Gin and tonics one night then were told they didn't have any the following night.
The rest of the staff were helpful and friendly but all in all, not the usual Thai hospitality we are used to.
