I really wanted to love this hotel but...

We really wanted to love our stay at this hotel - it's so charming with it's traditional thai wooden structure, the service is great and the staff are so friendly and the lunch and dinner at the restaurant are delicious. Plus, the massages on site are wonderful! However, our room itself was quite weird. It was hot (and we couldn't change the air conditioning temperature), loud (we were on a street corner and must have been next to a shrine because cars honked as they drove by throughout the day and night plus there was a boisterous rooster), and the bed was the only uncomfortable one we stayed on throughout our 3 week vacation in Thailand. The bathroom was cramped and had a weird setup with the urinal actually IN the shower - gross! All in all this was not a horrible stay and the positives outweighed the negatives, but the room itself was disappointing, to say the least.
