oasis of tranquility

although the hotel is a massive complex, it still feels very warm and welcoming. traditional Asian / Thai style of decoration, while not being too kitschy. the rooms are spacious, overlooking the tropical gardens. we went to the Italian restaurant, which was very good. swimming pool felt perhaps a little bit crowded. breakfast buffet was perfect: not a massive/disorienting amount of choices, but everything of high quality. great place!
