We've stayed here many times. Originally because we were bringing our wedding party to Koh Tao and this was the only place with a nice pool in this location. Since then the area has developed further and there are many other options. It still is a favorite of ours and we've been back with our baby. There are four types of accommodations, we prefer the newer rooms near the pool. The villas are nice if you want to pay the higher price. The staff is not very friendly or helpful but after going there so many times they've finally recognize us and are a bit nicer now. The location and quality of the place in comparison to surrounding spots make up for the lack of smiles. Other accommodations in this area can get very loud from late night parties so this is a good option if you have small children. The restaurant is right on the beach and the food is good. Restaurant staff do not speak Thai or English which poses a challenge when you speak Thai and English.
