Nice and peaceful

I booked a beachfront bungalow and the one that they first gave me was a disappointment. First of all it is not a beachfront bungalow because there is a structure in front of it. Also the trees are blocking the seaview completely. The bungalow itself was ok, except of the bathroom which was in bad shape and smelled like sewers in the evenings. This bungalow should not be rented as beachfront bungalow to be honest. However, they gave me a better one when it became available. Oddly enough, they have a plaque in the bathroom that says that putting toilet paper in the toilet is strictcly probhibited.

There are only three good beachfront bungalows, and one of the newer ones is located near the restaurant and not very private with the large windows and all.

Minibar prices were exceptionally high for some reason. Small Singha beer cost 115 Baht. In comparison, at the nearby classy restaurant it costed 70 Baht. The food in the resort restaurant was not very good, for my tastes at least.

The beach wasn't perfect. Seabottom is quite rocky and i didn't like the river either. They never clean the beach and there was many glass shards in the sand. Little bit dangerous for little kids, i'd reckon. Also expect to see locals run their bulls at the beach. I found that rather amusing though.

Resort is Thai-managed and the services were ok. Although at times they seemed a little bit short handed. Also they will charge 250 Baht/day for a motorbike rent. The normal cost is 200 Baht/day all across the island. The motorbikes were quite new, but they were cheap models. WiFi at the public area was slow and there were none available at the bungalows. The laundry service was reasonably priced and fast. Room cleaning was good too.

In short, this resort is ok if you want quiet place with nice sunsets and you are not so picky about little things. You will need transportation often, so renting a motorbike or a car is strongly recommended.
