Wonderful place, wonderful island

we stayed at thanya for five nights as the first part of our three weeks in southerns thailand and the place was everything we dreamed for.

thanya is located as the last resort on the beach which makes it quiet and relaxed place. the beach here is definately the best we experienced on the island. the sand is white and garbage free, the water is calm and clear which makes it perfect for kids and snorkeling. only a few meters from the coast you have a great coral reef.

everything at thanya is beautiful and aesthetic. surrounded by lush tropical forests, with swaying palms and blooming trees, and an azure horizon dotted with small rocky islands in the distance. this is absolutely paradisiacal!

the staff at thanya is kind and helpful. from the moment we got of the long tail on the beach to the moment we left we were met with kindness and warmth. they make you feel so extremely welcome here. especially the young waitress nong who worked so hard to make everyone feel welcome.

the restaurant is fin but won't leave a long lasting impression. they serve classic thai dishes as well as some european classics. the breakfast is simple but decent enough - yoghurt, fresh fruit, muesli, white bread, omelettes, pancakes, juice, coffe, tea as well as some warm thai dishes. you won't leave hungry but neither overly impressed.

we stayed in a tropical garden bungalow and though we would envy the fully booked beach front bubgalows but we were mistaken. out bungalow was at the back of the resort and the location turned out to be perfect. we enjoyed peace and privacy here at the back as well as a great view thanks to the location on the hillside. the beachfront and family bungalows may be closer to the beach but they also have people passing by all day. so i would recommend the cheaper and more peaceful option in the back.
