There are no 'mid range buget' places in Railay

There are mid range - priced as high end - and budget - some nearby Air B&B huts are pretty good if you can handle cold showers - but no chances for a high quality stay on Railay for less than a high quality budget. Get over it.
Everything from labour to food /drink has to be shipped in to Railay, and demand for rooms way outstrips supply, so this place was never going to be great at the price it is, however much you want it to be. The online critics are just missing the point.
It was ok for my needs. If you are a seasoned Asia traveller you probably think the same. But if this is a once in a lifetime trip to Thailand or you can just afford more (or would rather really save money and stay in the huts not far away --- they're not bad) then pay for that or you will be disappointed.
tl;dr OK but not great
That said, needs a safe box in the room.

Good location. Process and service can be better refined. I had paid in full on my credit card prior

nice hotel shame about the receptionist

Ok for short stay but not for a relaxing holiday
