great hotel for a quiet, private getaway. rooms were individual cottages that made us feel a world away from anyone else around. great bathrooms and nice staff. the breakfast was very nice. the pool was beautiful and the resort is right on the beach, but it wasn't suitable for long walks on the beach as the resort is secluded by a small stream on one side and rocks on the other.

Not a leading hotel of the world...why?

Bad ac and bed
The ac unit was simply not strong enough. Coupled with a bed that was way too soft it made it very hard to sleep.

Luxury hotel
It was a pleasure staying at the Belmond Koh Samui. Understated luxury, at its finest. Wonderful staff, beautiful grounds, delicious food. It felt like our own private hideaway.
