A very warm welcome awaits here .

This is a small family run hotel which is ideally situated for those travellers who want to stay not far from the ' Friendship Bridge' where one crosses into from the Thai border into Laos. We were travelling on a luxury cruise down the river Mekong to the town of Luang Prabang and returning a week later. We wanted to start the cruise fresh by staying somewhere locally the night before and finishing the journey back up the river we wanted to relax somewhere local to the bridge before travelling back to Chiang Rai. This hotel is ideal for this. We were welcomed by the owners as though we were family. We could not have asked for a warmer welcome. Our room had a stunning view over the Mekong. Without asking Our hosts also acquired all the documentation that we needed to complete prior to our cruise the following day which meant we could complete it at our leisure in our room rather than have to try to fill it in at the border. Our hosts also checked the documentation to ensure we had completed it correctly which was a great help. The Day waterfront does not offer bed and breakfast when one books it is generally just a place to sleep. However a light breakfast of toast, gorgeous cakes and fruit , fruit juice and coffee was offered and gratefully accepted, plus fruit for our onward journey. The only downside here are the exceptionally hard beds which us Brits are not used to. However we did sleep I think because we were so tired.
The downside to staying in this location (but is of no fault of the hotel) is there are few places to shop or eat compared to neighbouring towns. We got a tuk tuk up to Tesco Lotus to shop for a few toiletries but had to walk back which was a considerable way to get back to the hotel as there were no tuk tuks or taxis to be seen. This village clearly closes down really early in the evenings. On our return visit after the cruise we ate locally to the hotel. There were only a couple of restaurants open but we had a lovely meal. All in all we
