Absolutely fantastic!

We highly recommend the Day Waterfront Hotel. Our room was large and light, the view on the Mekong stunning, and the large bed very comfortable. The owners speak very good English and are extremely welcoming and helpful, including with recommendations for places to eat and onward connections. We came from Laos to Thailand rather than the other way around, and Chiang Khong was our first glimpse of Thailand. We could not have a better welcome than was afforded to us by the people at the Day Waterfront Hotel. If you have the time, stay for at least two days (as we did) or longer. There is nothing much to do in Chiang Khong, but therein lies its appeal, especially if you're a bit tired from trekking or whatever you have been up to during your time in SE Asia.

Great Place
