Hospitable hotel on the water

The owners are thoughtful and gracious. They provided the Laos visa paperwork so I could prepare it before the border crossing, offered suggestions for a place to eat dinner, called a tuk tuk to get me to the border and told me the price. No need to negotiate. The husband collects license plates from all over the world, so if you're staying there and haven't left home, pack a plate for him. His plan is to post all of them on the wall near the river along the walking path so people can enjoy them. Sweet.
