The perfect quiet getaway
If you want to experience beautiful Krabi without all the tourist drama, this may be the place for you. It's about 10 minutes out of town by car/scooter nestled between forest, rubber plantation and gorgeous mountain views. The owners are super friendly and helpful - we were looking for a fairly self-directed holiday but with the benefit of some local knowledge. The owners are full of helpful tips about where is/isn't good and what's busy when, and very resourceful too. They help book the best tours at the best prices (I did some comparing to my own research and was impressed) and will generally go out of their way to make sure you have a great stay, without ever being intrusive or hovering. There are scooters for hire onsite, though we booked a car and did some daytrips and driving around the hinterland. The owners were able to arrange the car at short notice and for it to come to the hotel. The villas themselves are lovely and well-maintained with self-catering facilities - you'll need to organise your own food though there are some great places nearby. All in all, we spent way more time having an amazing holiday and less time fussing with frustrating bits. It's a quiet place, not a party place, and this is no small part of its appeal.
