Solid hotel, with a couple of caveats

This hotel just *works.* It's comfortable; staff is friendly; pool, food all good. Lots to recommend.
Two problems: 1) If you are trying to get on the BTS at Thong Lor, the wait gets longer and longer. This could be a problem for travelers going to other areas at rush hour. 2) The hotel is good at many things but poor at sustainability. Lots of plastic in the rooms. When I arrived, all the lights were on and temperature was below 22 degrees C - in the middle of the day. To be a high-end hotel, the Marriott needs to focus more on taking care of the environment.
