We had booked the beach bungalow which we assumed had a beach view but was in fact only closer to the break than the garden view. Actually all the rooms are less than 100 m from the beach I would estimate. We found the location to be ok, there will be no nightlife but the hotel bar is open long enough. We were unimpressed overall with koh samui after driving around the island and aren't likely to return but if we did we would consider staying again at am samui in the dry season.

Walls were water damaged, bathroom was outside under a lean to asbestos roofed verander. Resort was let go a bit but for the money you couldn't expect much more I guess. We left and went to the Sunset... อ่านต่อ

Paradise... at a cost
The Am Samui is on the quietest side of the island and is (mostly) peaceful. There is not a lot close by save a few restaurants, but that was what we were looking for. You can hire scooters for 200 a ... อ่านต่อ
